What Happens to Your Data

Who Handles Your Information

Carsenter operates at carsenter.com. The site uses personal information to run its pages and respond to visitors. Questions about your information can be sent to [email protected].

The publication does not sell personal information. Its current site policy states that it has no ad trackers or third party audience analytics. Any new service that changes those practices requires a revised privacy disclosure.

What Reaches the Site

A web server may record your IP address and the page requested. Basic technical logs may also include your browser type. Such records support site security and help resolve technical faults.

An email to our editorial desk gives us your address and message. We use that information to respond or review a story tip. Please avoid private account details in any message.

Comments and Public Messages

If article comments are available, a comment form may collect your name and email address. The site may also record your IP address to help detect abuse. Your comment can appear publicly under the name you provide. Your email address is not part of the public comment.

A profile image service may receive an encoded form of your email address if the comment feature uses that service. A link or video from another website can have its own privacy rules. Each outside provider controls its own service.

Cookies on the Site

Essential site cookies may support access to the website. If you choose to save your comment details, your browser may retain them for a future visit. Editors who sign in to manage the site may have separate session cookies.

The website may store a small local record for a story view counter. You can erase browser cookies or local site data through your browser controls. Certain site features may no longer work as expected after that action.

Who May Receive Information

The host that operates the website may process technical records. The email service handles messages sent to our address. Information may also be disclosed when a valid legal obligation requires it.

We keep reader correspondence only as long as it serves its purpose or a relevant legal duty. Server record retention depends on the host. Public comments may remain visible until they are removed.

Your Privacy Choices

You may ask us for access to personal information associated with your email address. You may also request a correction or deletion, subject to the law that applies. We may request reasonable proof of identity before we act on a request.

Residents of some U.S. states have further rights under local privacy law. Carsenter does not currently sell personal information or share it for targeted ads. Requests related to sale or disclosure can be sent to our editorial email address.

Children and Site Security

Carsenter is intended for a general automotive audience and is not directed to children under 13. If a parent believes a child has supplied personal information, the parent may ask us to review its removal.

The site uses encrypted HTTPS connections. No internet service can promise absolute security. Access to administrative functions is limited to authorized users.

A Change in Our Services

New site features can change the information that passes through the website. We revise our privacy text when material practices change. Additional limits on use of the website appear in our site terms.
